Pummy Sadana, is a housewife, so to speak. But somewhere within the four walls of the home she so beautifully and whole-heartedly makes, lives an artist, defined by the beauty of her words and the strokes of her pen. The magic that the lady unknowingly weaves as she carves her innermost thoughts and musings on paper, into poetry that flows almost as flawlessly as music, has touched many a hearts over the course of 32 years or so that she first decided to write.
Delving into writing poetry at the early age of 15, owing to the loss of someone really close to her heart and soul, there has been no looking back.
The talent rooted deep inside her very soul, brought out by the void and pain of the loss, and has since been her passion, her private little piece of art, her own mental workshop. Initially a private hobby kept under wraps, later to be discovered by her father, led to the publishing of a collection of her initial poems, ‘Yaadein’ in 1985, which went ahead to win laurels at an International Book Fair held in Italy.
Graduating with a Masters in English Literature, her ardor and fervor for literature, prose and poetry only grew deeper, her flair with the words growing stronger and better. An avid reader, she has nothing but grown and developed in her writing, as the multitude of years has flown by.
From being a student, to a wife, to a mother, she has always taken on each role offered by life in her stride, her work thereby imbibing all the emotions, ups and downs, highs and lows she’s been through. It’s art, the way she manages to effortlessly express each and every intricate and complex emotion her heart and mind experience, into words and poems so profound, they tend to leave people around her awed, inspired, touched and enthralled all at the same time.
Today, she resides in Agra, a town in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, within all the love and affection her friends and family have to offer. Loved and adored by all, she continues her camaraderie with her pen, stringing words together almost as beautifully as pearls coming together to create masterpieces to be cherished, leaving footprints in the minds of those who read and appreciate her work, inspiring and motivating her to carry on, in-spite of the hurdles and bumps in the roller-coaster that is life.
